Reverend Phelix A. Lockhart

Biography

Reverend Phelix A. Lockhart was born and raised in Waverly, Alabama to Amos and Annie Lockhart and is the brother to Mrs. Cynthia Montgomery.  After completion of high school in Lafayette, AL he went on to further his education at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL.  After leaving Huntsville, he served in the Army Reserve as a Combat Engineer and the Army National Guard where he was a Military Police for over 10 years.  During his time in the Military, he was deployed to fight for our country during  the Iraqi Freedom War.  During this time, there were many obstacles, however there was a great reward.  While in Iraq, Reverend Lockhart was afforded the opportunity to visit Jordan and was able to experience where Jesus was baptized.  He also was afforded the opportunity to swim in the Dead Sea. 

 

After his tour in Iraq, he and his family moved to Opelika, AL. where they now reside.  Rev. Lockhart continued down the path of receiving more education and in June of 2009, Rev. Lockhart received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership and Management where he was Magna Cum Laude. 

 

In 2005 Reverend Lockhart and his family was searching and praying to be closer and closer to God, which they were led to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church in  Loachapoka, AL.  After becoming members of Mt. Zion, in 2006 Reverend Lockhart was commissioned by God to preach and teach His Holy word.  In the year and month of January 2007, Reverend Lockhart preached his initial sermon and was licensed by Pastor Anthony Shealey.  As Reverend Lockhart remained faithful under the leadership of Reverend Anthony Shealey and  Mt. Zion he was ordained January 2013.  Before Reverend Lockhart was ordained, he preached the Holy word at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist church up until Pastor Wille Davis death.  Reverend Lockhart became the Interim Pastor for Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Loachapoka, AL.  After a few weeks of continuos service to the church, Rev. Lockhart

was installed and became the Pastor at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, March 16, 2014.

 

Reverend Lockhart is one of the Volunteer Chaplains for East Alabama Medical Center, a member of the Prison Ministry of Lee County but most importantly a Servant for God.  Reverend Lockhart's strength is continuously built on his favorite scripture.  John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish,but have eternal life. Reverend Lockhart enjoys traveling, reading, exercising but most of all, he’s a family man. He is married to Mrs. Shernita Lockhart and has two daughters, Quin & Mercedes Lockhart.
